“De Simplicibus Rebus” è una serie di pocket books nati con il presupposto di dare risposte efficaci e rapide in ambito neurosonologico al clinico, cioè portare la neurosonologia nelle corsie come complemento strumentale all’esame obiettivo, alla stregua di un fonendoscopio.
"De simplicibus rebus" is a pocket books’series, born with the purpose of giving efficient and quick answers to the clinician in neurosonology, i.e of bringing neurosonology bedside as a aid to the medical examination, like a stetoscope.Several items will be discussed by a easy books’series with associated CD, ranging from the extra-and intracranial vascular disease to the focused knowledge of the various neurosonological techniques, like as ultrasound contrast media use, parenchymal examination, and finally the close relation heart to brain. The main item of cerebrovascular disease is to associate the site of vessel occlusion to the clinical presentation within the short time window from symptom onset. The occlusive pattern diagnosis became a primary goal in order to select the suitable patient for the suitable treatment, i.e. to make a real tailored therapy.Neurosonology, conceived as a combined extracranial and intracranial circulation patency study, may answer quickly to the question of vessel occlusion site, and then also allow the evaluation of vessel reperfusion. For this last item the sonological examination, because of its high dinamicity, is suitable also for evaluating an highly dynamic process, whose monitoring could be difficult by neuroradiological methods. But neurosonology nowadaysi reaching many other fields of application, because of the improving techniques and contrast media use. This drive got to the possibility of optiminzing the temporal bone window insonation and to widening chances of this technique by microcirculation study, perfusional evaluation and parenchyma structure examination, like as extrapiramidal diseases. Also the knowledge of cerebral venous haemodynamics is a major focus of neurosonological research and chimical application. These last applications are an exciting challenge now in progress, and maybe a reality that we’ll search to introduce in the routine clinical activity of the neurovascular physician by the present books’ series “De simplicibus rebus”.span>
